Castle Danger started as an idea.  An idea to join musicians from around the world, and collaborate to make original music.  At that time, technology had yet to reach a point where it was feasible.  Today, many options are available to make this collaboration not only feasible, but simple and affordable.

If you are interested in giving it a try, complete the contact form below.

Are you interesting in becoming a collaborator?

To take part in this project, you will need to either be able to plug directly into your PC/Mac, or mic your instrument/voice; however use of mics requires more skill and sound treatment of the room you are recording in.  If you are a vocalist, there’s not much of a choice, however if you play an electric instrument, I suggest direct in.  For vocalists, isolation shields or filters may be all you need, depending on the environment.

For example, I am a guitar player.  I primarily use a Boss Katana Artist Amplifier that I plug into a Focusrite 2i2 using the line out on the amp.  Other times, I will plug directly into the 2i2 and use amp simulation software, such as Guitar Rig.

We have tried a majority of the DAWS available, and they are all excellent choices.  For this project, we looked for an affordable solution, that was cross-platform and had built-in collaboration features.  We found Studio one to meet our needs.

Studio One

Studio One is a professional-quality DAW, with slightly less of a learning curve than some of the others. It is cross platform, and has an optional subscription model which makes it an affordable platform.

What kind of music do we make?

How does it work?

If you would like to join our World Wide Web of Danger, complete the form below.  If you are a good fit, you will be given access to one or more projects.  These projects contain song ideas, scratch tracks, or an almost complete song.  Once you complete your tracks, simply share it back, and everyone working on the project will be updated.

Creation and collaboration is the key.  Although the project may have virtual drum tracks, etc. You have artistic freedom to arrange your parts however you would like.  Because of this, the final project may be quite different from the original idea.

Will I be compensated?

This project is not about making money, it is about making music.  If a final song is good, it will be released on streaming platforms.  In addition to bragging rights, any monetary compensation (if any) will be split amongst the involved artists.

Who owns the music?

The final product will be the property of Castle Danger Music Company, with credit being given to the artists.  No music created by this project may be released separately by any individual.
